 The villages of Konavle have grown as familial communities, and this strict patriarchal way of living have preserved their tradition most obviously in the way they dressed ?traditional ethnic dresses and suits are the most recognisable identity of Konavle ethnic culture. When the airport was built some forty
year s ago, as well as the Adriatic Road, this area became one of the Croatian top destinations. Konavle are rich with small towns that offer traditional gastronomic delights like Konavoski dvori in Ljuta or folklore dances in
Ćilipi.
Cavtat has fastly grown into big reception centre. It offers natural beauties, high quality accomodation in hotels and private houses, many sport, entertainment and cultural activities, as well as rich gastronomy. In the sea depths near Cavtat there are remains of Roman shipwrecks from two thousand years ago.
